ACADEMY

Zach Academy is a full-time, dual-enrollment program. Through partnerships with accredited online schools, students earn their high school diplomas while training daily at Zach’s downtown campus. This flexible model blends top-tier academics with exceptional arts education, and gives students more time for rehearsals, professional work, and travel, all at an accessible cost.

ACADEMICS

Students are independently enrolled in accredited online schools like iUniversity Prep or Texas Connections Academy. Zach Academy offers a structured on-campus learning space with an Academic Supervisor available Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. The Supervisor supports time management, goal-setting, and self-directed learning. Students also have access to outdoor study areas and Zach’s studios for private lessons. Multiple breaks are built into the day, and off-campus lunch is allowed.

PERFORMING ARTS

Zach Academy offers three focused tracks: Musical Theater, Acting, and Dance.

Students train Monday–Friday in small classes (3–15 students) led by professional teaching artists and working performers.

New students typically begin with five core classes tailored to their chosen track. When not in arts classes, students work on academics from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Zach Academy On Stage

Every year, students in our Academy bring a full-scale musical to life; gaining hands-on experience in acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling on a professional stage. From The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to Into the Woods (which won the 2025 Heller Award for Best Musical!) to Alice by Heart, our student-led productions showcase the incredible talent, growth, and dedication of young performers.

These annual productions are more than just performances. They’re a spotlight on the power of on-stage training, creative collaboration, and the magic that happens when students step into the light.

After your session, you’ll complete the Zach Academy Audition Form to submit your application and request an audition time. A staff member will follow up to schedule your in-person audition.

FAQs

Yes, Zach Academy requires all students to apply and audition after an information session with the student and a parent/guardian. To set up an information session, please submit an inquiry. If you have already had an information session and are interested in applying for Zach Academy, please submit your Zach Academy Application/Audition Form. After submitting your application, we will contact you to set up an audition appointment.

Students are not required to be on campus for academic hours. For example, Students have the option to attend virtual academic classes at home, they can also travel. Zach is providing the “Home-base,” community, professional staff, and additional performing arts classes.
If you have already had an information session and are interested in applying for Zach Academy, please submit your Zach Academy Application/Audition Form. After submitting your application, we will contact you to set up an audition appointment. Auditions will be in person, and the requirements are below. Specific instructions and audition times will be provided individually.

Acting Track | Two contrasting 1 min. Monologues

Dance Track | Live dance call (Ballet, Jazz, tap combination). If you would like to audition for an advanced level, then please prepare a 30-60 second dance combination in a style of your choice.

Musical Theatre Track | Two contrasting 1 min. monologues; Live dance call (Ballet and Jazz); and Two contrasting songs (32 bar cuts with live accompaniment provided)
Students are enrolled in at least 5 core performing arts classes Monday through Friday. When students are not in performing arts classes, they are in Zach Academy’s on-campus learning environment with an Academic Supervisor 9am-4pm on Monday through Thursday.

Downtown Performing Arts Classes
During performing arts classes, our skilled Teaching Artists are instructing and supervising students. During academic time, the Academy Supervisor, oversees classroom spaces and helps students navigate self-directed learning by cultivating time management and prioritization skills.

Yes! Zach Academy is accepting rolling admissions. However, we advise starting at the beginning of a semester. For more information, please fill out this Interest Form. Admission is based on audition and capacity.
