INTERNSHIPS AT ZACH
An internship at Zach theater provides hands-on experience in a professional regional theater setting, offering invaluable opportunities to expand administrative, production, and creative skills. Interns gain practical training, mentorship, and networking connections within Austin’s thriving artistic community.
- Internship Length: Varies from 10–12 weeks, semester-based, or year-long experiences
- Who Should Apply?: Current college students, recent graduates, and individuals with theater experience looking to build their skills are encouraged to apply.

Internship Areas
Costume Design - Currently Closed
- Gain practical experience in costume design and wardrobe operations.
- Work alongside professional designers and wardrobe teams.
Stage Management - Currently Closed
- Assist the lead Stage Manager in the production process.
- Acquire skills in professional theater stage management.
Wardrobe Crew - Currently Closed
- Shadow wardrobe professionals and learn wardrobe track operations during performances.
- Receive one-on-one mentorship and hands on experience.
Development / Arts Administration - Currently Closed
- Gain training in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and event planning.
- Work closely with the Development Events Manager and Individual Giving Manager.
- Learn arts administration fundamentals in a performing arts setting.
Education Internships - Now accepting applications
Teaching Internship - Summer 2025
- Internship Dates: May 21 - August 15, 2025
- Assist with teaching and administrative support for summer theater programs.
- Work with students ages 3-18 in themed camps, acting intensives, and creative drama sessions.
- Ideal for those interested in arts education with experience as a theater artist or educator.
- Candidate should have strong communication, organizational, and public engagement skills.
