CASTING AT ZACH THEATER

Zach Theater hires over 100 AEA (Actors’ Equity Association) and Non-Equity actors each season, with 98% of performers residing in Austin and Central Texas. Our casting philosophy prioritizes hiring locally first, ensuring that Zach remains a theater of, by, and for Austin while showcasing the immense talent within our community.

AUDITION PROCESS

Local Auditions: Held throughout the year, typically four to eight months before a show’s first rehearsal.

New York City Casting: Select principal and featured chorus roles are cast in NYC after the season is announced. New York City Casting follows Local Auditions.

Video Auditions & Agent Submissions: Accepted year-round
